Doses of Grace: Really? →
I’m tired of reading over and over again that Judy Garland was ‘robbed’ of ’her’ Oscar by Grace. That’s not the way it goes… Grace didn’t ‘steal’ it - she won it. For her own achievements.
Let me stress that this is not criticism of Judy, who undeniably was a great artist. It is just that, as a…
Hail, hail! Thank you for standing up for Grace, Talita. I commented on this a few months back:
This argument always gets my eyes rolling, and, obviously, I lose any sense of decorum and start cussing… please forgive my foul words.
Both are right. I could never understand the haughtiness and infant attitud of Judy Garland. If it is true that Judy called Grace screaming that night, honestly I feel very disappointed with Mrs. Garland. She had 5 years? she was more than 40 in 1955.Yo I have always admired both actresses, but the Oscar went to Grace and that is all. There´re more important things in a career than an award.
I should also add that the Academy Awards of Hollywood are not always fair. Grace may not be the best actress (honestly I do not like the performance in “The Country Girl”), but was given an award by a jury and it must to be respected.
I have always heared that the greatness of the people are in times of disappointment and anger -may be justified by Judy Garland-. But Judy´s attitud was unfair and behaved like a “spoiled child”.
